Yoon Young-Hwa received B.A in Painting at Seoul National University in Korea and received B.A and M.A in Plastic Art at Paris VIII University in France. His interest is to see how paintings and photographs can meet each other equally and clearly while keeping their respective properties entirely and purely--that is the cold property of photographs that reproduce the objective image of the matter with cameras and the property of paintings that is a warm expression of human identity. He said that the purpose of his art is to negotiate and reconcile two opposite concepts such as reproduction and expression, image and matter, reality and fantasy, the sacred and the secular, the seen and the unseen, the variable and the invariable, with the purpose of bringing these opposite concepts to intimacy and unity.
