Art seems to be a fantasy that is miles away from reality, but, at one point, art sometimes comes close to our lives. By appreciating and creating art, people can express their emotions deep in their hearts. So they can enjoy relaxation effect, and it is therefore good to cure scars of wounded hearts. I’d like to talk about child psychology that comes from the issues of child development around our neighborhood, through the art that functions to cure wounded hearts. Recently, children around us seem to have no problems on the outside. Inside, however, many of them hide emotions of loneliness deep in their hearts. These children do not communicate with others. This is because they have problems in forming attachment with their parents in their early stages of life, which would also influence the development of relationships with others later. These children do not know trust and love for others, and they cannot break the shell of their inner world. They are always afraid of others and their neighboring environment. They have attachment disorder. They are often obsessed with particular objects or colors, and they get to express their anxiety through their defense mechanism. My work aimed at expressing these heartrending stories of such children who refuse to communicate with the outer world, in order to offer a chance of invisible and indirect communications between these children and others. With this project as a chance, I hope to be of help for children with attachment disorder to cure their wounded hearts. The artist and spectators could be one with these children, recall their own memories of repression and cure those memories. I hope. EDUCATION 2009 MFA. Sculpture Major, Kook Min University 2006 BFA.
