MO Junseok (1984~)
Artist Mo Jun Seok utilizes basic elements of figurative art, lines and fields and creates his unique installation works highlighting both three-dimensional aspect and picturesque effects. Based on his personal experiences, his works recreate a common perception toward the house and trigger viewers' memories, thoughts and imaginations. The house as the main subject, is translated is something more than a means of protection or a possession. With vivid colored stained glasses and extended copper wires, his houses and its town as a whole become a place for communication and a realm of coexistence where individuality is respected and idealistic community, Koinonia is established after the self-emptying, Kenosis. Only after the toilsome stages of drawing, clay work, hammering and welding are born a piece of artist’s work of which is ultimately a piece of sculpture but of which its visual effects also convey that of a drawing for its connected lines and the fields they create.
