Being connected with others is becoming the most difficult task for some people today. Jihye Park says that it is because they unintentionally hurt and are hurt one another when getting closer. The situation leads them to feel that the inside of the house is the most comfortable nest and refuge. In her work, Jihye Park brings the difficulties occurring in relationships as a subject matter. The unique and surrealistic narratives in her work are based on the senses of alienation, isolation, solitude, anxiety, loneliness, depression and disconnection of communication to bring the human's deep and dark inner side up. It is possibly said that the common idea of those senses is from the dark side of the mind, but, her scenes have been so beautifully and precisely expressed on the canvases that arouse people’s curiosities.
